If you have trouble pushing Sophos from your server to your workstations, consider reading the following article by Sophos:
How to configure the Windows XP/2003 security settings to allow one computer to be administered from another computer

We use GPO with Active Directory to push these settings automatically. While you’re there anyway, don’t forget to Disable the Windows Firewall for Domain Network Profiles and don’t forget to Enable the Remote Registry Service for your clients. Happy hacking!

Yes, Sophos suddenly seems to feature a Web Content Scanner AddOn for IE8. I was convinced Sophos did a file-only check (if web content contains a virus, it will eventually try to create a file on your file system) but somehow they changed their strategy… It’s funny how people and organisations are in fact all alike in their efforts to distinguish themselves…
And, of course, more functionality requires more testing…

I tested BlackBerry OS 5.0.0.90 on my Bold earlier. Unfortunately I discovered quite a lot of bugs, forcing me to go back to 4.6
Today I found out that 5.0.0.93 has leaked earlier this month and I just downloaded it to see if this version has support for Windows Live Messenger and Facebook. Strange thing is that I can find lots of stuff about 5.0.0.90 and 5.0.0.93, but I can’t find a good comparison between the two. I cannot tell if there are significant changes between the two, so… let’s find out!

Geachte heer/mevrouw,

In de nacht van zaterdag 13 op zondag 14 juni staan er werkzaamheden gepland aan onze centrale in Hilversum. Deze centrale vormt de basis van onze dienstverlening voor vaste telefonie, mobiele telefonie en datatransport. Om de hinder voor u zoveel mogelijk te beperken, vinden de werkzaamheden plaats van 03.00 tot 07.00 uur.

Gevolgen van de werkzaamheden:
•    In het grootste gedeelte van de Gooi- en Vechtstreek zal vaste telefonie, internet- en dataverkeer tussen 03.00 en 07.00 uur gedurende enige tijd niet mogelijk zijn. De onderbreking varieert per aansluiting van enkele seconden tot enkele uren.
•    In de Gooi- en Vechtstreek, Flevoland en het westelijk deel van de Veluwe zal het mobiele telefoonverkeer tussen 03.00 en 07.00 uur gedurende enige tijd onderbroken zijn of te maken krijgen met verminderd bereik. De duur varieert van enkele seconden tot enkele uren.
•    De werkzaamheden kunnen impact hebben op doorgeschakelde verbindingen die via deze centrale lopen.
•    De werkzaamheden hebben effect op het dataverkeer tussen beveiligingscentrales en alarminstallaties. Bij een onderbreking van de verbinding met de alarminstallatie, resetten de meeste alarminstallaties zich automatisch. Wij adviseren u echter de specificaties van uw installatie voor de zekerheid te (laten) raadplegen.

If you’re using both WordPress and Twitter, like I do, you might want to know that Joe Dolson released a new version of the plugin, that allows you to automatically tweet your posts to Twitter!
I noticed a bug that caused newly posted articles not to make it to Twitter, unless you edit them first (and save them and after that they got tweeted).

I also found that posts submitted by e-mail got tweeted twice!
Joe let me know that he released an update, so let’s see if it works!
